WHY PLAYSTATION 3?

many of you may be thinking that the playstation 3 is an outdated console, and that we should buy new consoles. many of you also like xbox. this article shows why ps3 is the best

but first, we have to show why it is bad

no longer in production :-

the playstation 3 ended production in 2017, about 8 years back. this means over time it will become harder and harder to find one. for example, fat ps3 is very hard to find in india, only slim and super slim can be found here

playstation network :-

basically a backdoor. and it updates firmware, which is bad if you want to mod the ps3

xbox has more ram :-

the xbox360 has 512 mb of ram and 512 mb of vram. that is exactly double of the ps3. but the 256 mb of vram can only be accesed by games. so if you want to, do something stupid called other os on the ps3 (linux) , then have fun with 256 mb of ram and cpu graphics only

the cpu :-

the cpu, while very powerful, is only single core and is very hard to program for. so if you want to make games , or software, for the ps3, good luck

only fat ps3 has native ps2 compatability :-

most people won't really care, but for me, it means I can't play sonic heroes without homebrew

ps3 superslim :-

just made for no reason. no cool disc tray and no good homebrew support. just buy a slim or a fat if you can find one

ok so, you now know what's bad about the ps3. these are mostly irrelevant nowadays.so now , lets see what's good

great homebrew :-

its very easy to homebrew the ps3 , its not as easy as the ps2, but its very easy even if you haven't any experience in computers at all

great games :-

there are many great games for the ps3 including gta 4 and 5 and grand turismo 5 and 6. only bad thing is that no sonic heroes and adventure. but there's always homebrew

great blu ray and dvd player :-

from what I've heard, the ps3 is very good as a blu ray and dvd player. I have no idea about cds. but this means its more than games but also very good media

great game cases :-

if you have a ps4 with physical games, then you know how bad those cases are. and they wonder why discs are so fragile

great middle ground :-

the ps3 for me is a great middle ground for game consoles. it has all the features of new and old consoles. its like a thinkpad t430, dell optiplex, or a 2012 macbook. the best of all worlds

great documentation :-

I was searching for about the ps3 video editor , and on google (mojeek didn't give anything relevant) the first result was the playstation 3 user guide. I am very suprised that sony kept it on their site aswell as the ps4 documentation. and it even seems compatible with the ps3 browser?? very cool , check here

the new generation sucks!!!1!1!!1 :-

face it, this new 9th generation of gaming is very boring for xbox and playstation. its not worth to buy a ps5, there's no games that you can't play on ps4, and even no discs?? ps3 best

almost a computer?? :-

if you think about it, you can plug a mouse and keyboard (usb 2 only). there are also file managers, ftp clients, and a web browser. I mean, then I can update the website via ps3 alone and I'm not even mentioning other os. even though its extremely out of date (kernel 3 as opposed to 6 now), linux is very usable. besides, the best distro has "experimental support" for the ps3. and maybe, you can just ignore other os and make some programs. and boom, operating system. it already has a basic video editor and printer support. as someone who used to use a netbook as a daily pc, I'm sure that with a little effort, the ps3 is a computer
